Alfetta 2000 Turbodelta (116.36D)
The Alfetta 2000 Turbodelta was produced by Autodelta at the Settimo Torinese factory.
This version was built from 1979 to 1980 in 400 copies with a turbo charged engine producing 150HP.
The 2000 Turbodelta was the first Italian production car with patrol engine using a turbocharger. To homologate the cars in Group 4 400 units needed to produced according to the period rules. The production process was building Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 L in Arese first and then upgrading the Alfettas at the Autodelta premises. Therefore the Turbodelta does not have a specific chassis number.
Engine modifications of this model consist of:
different pistons, cylinder liners, metal head gaskets, exhaust system and shock absorbers,
reinforced clutch and camshafts,
oversized water radiator,
electric fuel pump
Aesthetically the turbodelta is recognisable by multicolour side stripes and the black bonnet with ventilation holes. Under the front grill are a series of additional ventilation holes.
The passenger compartment is unchanged, with the addition of a turbo pressure gauge right of the rev counter.
