Debuted in 2009 at the Frankfurt Auto Show, the Lamborghini Reventón Roadster is a modified version of the Murciélago and the Reventón Coupé.
The car's mechanical underpinnings are fully identical to those of the Murciélago LP 640 with the execption of using the engine from the Murciélago LP 670?4 Super Veloce.
Each Reventón Roadster planned to be sold for 1.1 million Euro (plus local taxes), but high demand rose the price tag to around 2.1 million US Dollar.
Production was set for a run of 15 units and deliveries started in October 2009.
The base bodyshell of the Reventón is designed to be extra stiff so that the Reventón Roadster requires only minimal reinforcement.
Officially it has a dry weight of 1690 kg, 25 kg more than the Coupé.
Like the Coupé, the cell of the Roadster is made from high-strength steel profile and carbon components.
The bodyshell is made almost entirely from carbon fiber elements, with sheet steel used only for the outer door skins.
A unique paint finish completes the design language of the Lamborghini Reventón Roadster.
For this car, designers created a new shade of matt grey called "Reventón Grey".
This colour is a slightly different shade of grey compared to the Coupé, but it's equally a matt paint finish that displays metal particles in bright light.
The wheels of the Reventón Roadster also use both matt and glossy elements with the rims using five Y-forms with mounted carbon sections.
